the plans you made and things in this video are very odd, not super detailed. example, video you said it is 25 degree angle on the back, the plans say 15 degree.

u have to use an impact drill for the screws in the drawers front, with the setting to the lowest torque.

for those who do not understand why he scrapes the dried glue prior to using his thickness planner, is that lumps of hard glue will chip the blades of the planer. Not sure it will on indexable carbide but it will on HSS blades.

What software do you use/suggest for building cabinets?

In a tiny kitchen, it would be incredibly useful to utilize the toe kick space, especially with the care that you built them. It is perfect as a drawer for baking sheets, pizza pans and trays. I have one in my kitchen and wish I had more.

One alternative to wax is to use liquid soap. Note that this _might_ act as a "screw-lock" over time (Not sure... the screws certainly did not come out easily in the one case where I needed it, *but* they were also in the wood for about 10y before the disassembly, so, it might just be that the screws were eaten up by corrosion by that time), but I've done it when I had issues with screws snapping off when going into something, and it certainly greatly reduces the tendency to snap off.

A year in, I'm certain this Glowforge is just a paperweight at this point. These things are junk.

@MichaelAlm First off let me congratulate you on a great job with attention to detail. Usually in kitchens the grain runs vertically in the 1000's of kitchens I worked in the past (family business). Is there a reason why you decided to go with the wood grain running horizontally?

+1 for bees wax on screws and shitty ones included in fittings. I have quite a few of those little bags of screws in a container in my shed that I decided not to try and use. Especially when I am using Jarrah

Re breaking screws in the oak: Were you making pilot holes? I see you are, for the pulls, but are still worried. So did you use the right size pilot? Pilots for hard woods are a different size than for soft pine! They should actually be sized to the inner shaft of the screw, that is, only the threads should stick out into the wood from the pre-bored hole. So, you can check the size for that specific screw by holding a bit in front of it, rather than using the standard number.

I loved the melding of woodwork and drywalling craftsmanship shown! Man, those drywallers are so skilled. The ceiling tool they use is definitely an investment, but I'm sure its paid for itself a million times over for those results. Their work turned out just amazing.

Next time, use GRK cabinet screws and also use your drill to remove screws without a head.

Michael Nice cabinets. I have had to deal with red oak and white oak color difference in the past. if you pre-stain the red oak with Minwax Fruitwood you will not be able to tell the difference when your final finish is on. Keep up the good work.

I was a cabinet maker in the 1980's and your method and finishing is very much like what we were doing. For some clients we could not use plywood for the larger panels. Instead we had to make up the panel from solid stock, taking pains to flip parts around to prevent warping. (Federal courts even specified solid stock make ups for library shelving!) I don't recall having any call backs on the make ups. Beautiful work. Would love the same in my own kitchen.

Yeah, you are learning the same thing I did in the same way; be careful where you buy your screws because the available quality varies enormously. Nice project, inspiring to me as I approach time to start work on my own home.
